Wayne Thompson, owner said, "the whole process was simple and easy to arrange. We received excellent customer service from Banking on Essex, which is vitally important to us, as we strive to deliver the best service in our own business"

Slice is a small catering business, which has a cafe based in the heart of Chelmsford. The husband and wife team, who established their business over two years ago, were keen to expand and open a second cafe in Colchester.

Having moved their business banking account from Barclays to Santander earlier this year (due to better business banking solutions), they sought advice about a business loan. The Banking on Essex programme was recommended to them and they obtained a £25,000 loan to purchase catering equipment and refurbish their second café

Slice has had one-to-one contact with a Banking on Essex Business Relationship Manager throughout the application process. They feel that the service they have received made the whole process simple. The personal contact with their Banking on Essex Relationship Manager who visited them at their place of business, combined with a competitive interest rate, gave them the chance to discuss their future plans and feel valued as a customer.

Wayne and his team at Slice recently appeared in an Essex County Council campaign to advertise the Banking on Essex initiative, which is currently airing on Anglia TV and local radio. View the video below.
