Following a substantial loan from Banking on Essex, Richard Deal the owner of Greeves Motorcycles has begun to realise his dream, by launching the brand new Greeves Trials Bike. Not only is this the first British off-road motorcycle to be built in the UK for nearly 40 years, it has also boosted the local economy with some of the component parts manufactured here in Essex such as the engine, frame and swinging arm.

Greeves, a true family run business, has now sold its first two bikes and has already secured overseas contracts for twelve bikes with distributors in Holland and Austria. Talks are now underway with other prospective European distributors based in Germany, Belgium and France as well as across the Globe reaching into Australia and Canada.
 

On 25th April 2010 the new 280cc Ti trials bike will be entering the Dutch Open Trial which will be its first major international trials competition. From here, it will be ridden by one of the top twelve British trials riders in an indoor arena event in Wakefield, where it is hoped that the bike performs as well as expected. Following success there, the new 280cc trials bike will be entered into the British Championships taking place later this year at various venues.

Not content with just one brand new bike, Greeves are now in the process of developing a range of new bikes including a 125cc and 300cc bike, to appeal to both junior and competition riders. Furthermore, the company has launched a complementary clothing range including shirts, jackets, helmets and boots.
